Stake Chicken: Rules, Difficulty Levels and Multipliers

Chicken asks you to move a chicken along a sequence of tiles. Each successful jump increases the available multiplier. The player can then cash out or attempt the next step; if the chicken encounters the losing event before cashout, the round ends and the bet is lost.

The Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert difficulty levels change the progression of payouts and the risk associated with each new jump.

How a Round Works

1. Choose the bet and difficulty.
2. Start the game, then use the advance control to reach the first tile.
3. After a successful jump, check the displayed multiplier.
4. Cash out the available return or attempt the next tile.
5. A tile that gives way or a car that reaches the chicken ends the round without a payout.

The game waits for a new decision after every success. The multiplier already reached therefore remains potential until cashout has been used.

Understanding the Chicken Interface

The course occupies the centre of the screen. The side panel contains the mode, bet, difficulty and round controls.

The screenshot shows Manual mode with Medium selected. Multipliers appear directly beneath the upcoming tiles: they let you see the current return and the next steps without leaving the course. The panel also shows the total profit corresponding to the current multiplier.

Manual, Auto and Difficulty Levels

In Manual mode, the player decides on every jump and when to cash out. Auto mode notably allows you to set the bet, volatility, target number of jumps per round, number of rounds, and profit or loss limits.

Automating the round does not make obstacles predictable. A sequence can also rapidly increase the amount exposed if a rule changes the bet after a win or loss.

Easy produces the most gradual progression. Expert displays much higher multipliers from the first few tiles, in exchange for a significantly lower probability of continuing. No mode guarantees a better result.

Chicken Multiplier Table

The first column shows the number of successful steps. The Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert columns give the multiplier available at each difficulty. The branded PNG contains the canonical values and can be opened at full size.

After one step, values range from 1.03x on Easy to 1.96x on Expert. After five steps, they range from 1.31x to 60.29x. Always compare values on the same row to measure the effect of difficulty.

Blank cells indicate a step that does not exist in the relevant mode. They represent neither a zero payout nor missing data.

Cashout Example

With a bet of 10 units and cashout at 1.64x, the total return is 16.40 units, including the bet. The net profit is therefore 6.40 units.

If the player attempts the next tile and encounters the losing event, the potential 16.40 units are not paid. Continuing increases the possible payout but puts the entire return from the round at risk again.

Tips and Limits

• check the difficulty before starting the first jump;
• watch the current multiplier rather than only the maximum in the table;
• set a progression limit before using Auto;
• keep the bet compatible with several losing outcomes;
• do not treat a long previous sequence as an indication of the next one.

Choosing Easy or cashing out early can reduce volatility without eliminating the house edge or the risk of losing the bet. Extreme multipliers correspond to rare sequences.

Chicken and Provably Fair

Stake includes Chicken among its provably fair games. Once the server seed has been revealed, the result can be reproduced with the client seed and nonce. This verification takes place after the game and cannot predict the losing step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Cash Out after Every Jump?

Yes. After a successful step, cashout pays the return corresponding to the displayed multiplier.

Is Expert More Profitable than Easy?

No. Expert increases multipliers more quickly because progression is riskier. A higher potential payout does not guarantee better profitability.

Does Auto Mode Improve Results?

No. It repeats the parameters set by the player and can accelerate the rounds without changing the random nature of the events.
