Between Everton and Stake, continuity does not mean standing still. The brand occupied the front of the shirt for four seasons, from 2022–23 to 2025–26. From 2026–27, it remains a club partner but moves to the sleeve, while CMC Markets takes the main position. This development places the agreement in its true timeline.

From St Domingo to Nine English Championships

Founded in 1878 as St Domingo, Everton was one of the twelve founding members of the Football League in 1888. The club has won nine English championships and five FA Cups. These landmarks explain its place in English football history without reducing its identity to a list of honours.

That identity is also geographical. Everton played at Goodison Park from 1892 in north Liverpool. The men's team left the ground after the 2024–25 season to move to Hill Dickinson Stadium, while the women's team began using Goodison Park. The stadium change therefore accompanied the final part of the period during which Stake was main partner.

On 1 July 2022, Stake Takes the Front of the Shirt

The agreement announced in June 2022 began on 1 July. Stake was then designated Main Partner under a multi-year contract presented as the largest shirt sponsorship agreement in Everton's history at that date.

The published visibility covered the front of the men's and women's team shirts. It also extended to screens and media at Goodison Park and Finch Farm, as well as the club's digital platforms. Stake remained in this position for four seasons, through the end of the 2025–26 campaign.

Why the Arrangement Changes in 2026–27

On 13 April 2023, Premier League clubs collectively agreed to remove gambling-related sponsors from the front of their match shirts at the end of the 2025–26 season. The measure does not prohibit all presence on the kit: it targets the central position.

Everton implemented this transition through two complementary announcements. On 30 June 2026, the club confirmed a new multi-year agreement making Stake its Official Sleeve Partner from 2026–27. The following day, CMC Markets announced that it would become Main Club Partner and front-of-shirt sponsor for the men's, women's and under-21 teams.

A Relationship Extended, but in a Different Role

As of 25 July 2026, Stake therefore remains a current Everton partner. The exact wording matters: for 2026–27, the brand is no longer the main sponsor in the centre of the shirt, but the official sleeve partner.

The new agreement also maintains a presence across digital channels and matchday media, as well as at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Goodison Park and Finch Farm. It extends a relationship that began four years earlier while clearly distinguishing the main partner, CMC Markets, from the sleeve partner.

A Case Directly Connected with the English Calendar

The move from the front to the sleeve illustrates a specific regulatory change rather than a commercial break. Everton and Stake chose to continue their relationship in a position compatible with the Premier League's collective decision.

This journey differs from the regional sponsorship of FBC Melgar in Peru, documented for one season and three teams. At Everton, the editorial interest lies in the succession of two published contractual statuses and how they relate to the Premier League calendar.
